OUR PASTOR

Reverend Doctor Stanley L. Smith, an ordained minister has been a minister for 15 years and ordained since 2001. He is the Pastor and Founder of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church.  Crossroads was founded in December 2011 and held its first service the first Sunday in January 2012. The Church just recently celebrated its third anniversary.

Prior to the founding of Crossroads, Pastor Smith was the Youth Minister at College Hill Church for eight years. He served as Youth Ministry leader for College Hill from the inception of the Ministry until January 2010.  He also served as Minister for the Children’s Church. Pastor Smith has served as guest minister at many churches in Jackson and other areas in the State of Mississippi.  He has also conducted revival services for churches in the area. He is most passionate about his work with the children and youth and has long been a mentor, coach, teacher and friend to numerous children and youth across the City of Jackson. 

Pastor Smith is a graduate of Murrah High School. He attended Hinds Community College and Mississippi College. He was very athletic and played football at each of those schools.  He attended the Flag Chapel Bible College (one of two accredited seminaries in the Jackson area).  After four years of matriculation, he received the Bachelor of Theology degree in May 2009. After completing the coursework for the Masters of Theology degree in May 2010, he received the Masters Degree diploma during a formal ceremony September 19, 2010. Dr. Smith received the Doctorate of Theology in May 2011.

A City of Jackson employee for over 39 years, Dr. Smith is Manager with the Parks and Recreation Division and is responsible for the all Jackson area parks, athletic fields, right of ways and curbs in the City. He has received several awards for his community service and volunteerism.  He has also been honored for his work ethic and knowledge in the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation department.  He has been and continues to be a seminar speaker at several conferences throughout the State on landscaping, horticulture and park maintenance.

Dr.  Smith is married to Stephanie Parker Smith, they are the parents of five children, Willie, Doug, Stephanie, Stephen and Sierra.  He is a dedicated husband and father.  He is the loving son of the late Jessie Smith and Hannah Course Smith.
